Samaritan Ministry

Samaritan Ministry

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. — Matthew 25:40

The Service: Providing social service and humanitarian aid to those in need. This ministry coordinates the community’s charitable efforts and supports the Parish Samaritan Ministry for various global and local causes.

The Samaritan Ministry embodies the compassion of the SMTC, reaching out to the vulnerable during times of crisis. Whether it is providing relief during floods, supporting those affected by the pandemic, or assisting members battling cancer, this ministry turns our faith into tangible action. They ensure that the Tamil community is known not just for its prayers, but for its hands-on help to the suffering.

The team works in close coordination with the Parish’s central Samaritan Ministry, participating in donation camps and charity drives that have a global impact. By mobilizing the SMTC’s resources, they contribute to large-scale humanitarian efforts, showing that our community is a reliable partner in the Church’s mission of mercy. Their work often involves discreetly identifying and helping those in our own midst who are struggling silently.

Through their various social services, they remind us that the Gospel is lived out in how we treat the “least among us.” The ministry also focuses on raising awareness within the community about social issues and encouraging a culture of generosity. Their service is a powerful witness to the love of Christ in a world that is often indifferent to the needs of others.
